Why We Row
The Mission
Every ocean we cross is a test of what the mind can carry. This one, we're rowing for the people carrying more than their share.
The Why
Rowing for minds that carry too much
This crew knows what it is to operate at the edge of human endurance. Many of us come from military backgrounds — where the pressure doesn’t always end when the mission does. We’ve seen how heavily the mind can weigh, in ourselves and in the people beside us.
Mental-health struggle hits the veteran community hard — but it is not theirs alone. The modern world presses on everyone: the quiet pressure that builds day after day, and the moments when the weight becomes impossible to shoulder on your own.
We can’t fix that from a rowing boat. But we can row to fund the people who can — and to prove that the hardest crossings, the ones that look impossible from the shore, can still be made. That’s why every stroke south is raising money, and awareness, for three organisations doing the work that matters.

Where Your Support Goes
One Cause, Three Ways to Help
There’s no single pot. Each of our three partners takes donations directly on their own website — so you can give to the cause that speaks to you, or spread it across all three. However you give, please note it’s on behalf of the Southern Ocean Row, so your support is credited to the expedition.
Our Mission Partners
The Three We’re Rowing For
Three organisations, one shared belief: that no one should have to face the hardest crossings alone.

Saving Lives. Changing Lives.
Rock2Recovery
Rock2Recovery supports serving personnel, veterans and their families through some of the hardest moments a person can face — offering fast, human, one-to-one support when the weight becomes too much to carry alone.
Funds raised through this expedition help keep that lifeline open — the coaching and intervention that gets people through the crisis and out the other side.

Funding Military Sport & Adventure
TeamForces
TeamForces backs the Armed Forces community through the power of sport and adventure — funding the challenges, teams and charities that rebuild confidence, purpose and camaraderie after service.
Your support helps put people back in the arena — because momentum, teamwork and a goal on the horizon are some of the most powerful tools for a healthy mind.

Neurological & Translational Science
Perron Institute
The Perron Institute advances the science of the brain and nervous system — turning world-class research into real treatments and better outcomes for people living with neurological conditions.
Funds raised here support that research, reaching far beyond the lab and into the lives of the people and families who need it most.
